The 24th of feb we, for the first time ever while sailing in the caribbean, caught a mahi-mahi. The last time I caught one was during the atlantic crossing on Anco's boat Wanderer in 2008. We were on our way to Trois Islets coming from St. Anne. We had a down wind sail with only the genoa up. Surfing of the waves the lure we trawled behind was to attractive for the Mahi-Mahi to let go by. Coming round Diamant Rock we were still able to sail with the genoa only. We took a very wide turn towards the bay of Fort de France to stay clear of the numerous fish and lobsterpots that are layed out getting up to Petit Anse and Grand Anse D'arlet. Into the bay of Fort de France we sailed clause hauled towards the end of the bay where you make a turn to starboard to get to the anchorage of Trois Islets, which is in front of the Martinique golfcourse. Irene cleaned the mahi-mahi and prepared it for dinner. It was d e l i c i o u s.
