Work to be done
When we prepare Sotirius for the new sailing season we rent a room on the North Finger, rent a golfbuggy (what else) and commute back and forth to the shipyard. Fortunately for us we don't have to do all the work ourselves. Tindle always helps out with cleaning, polishing and putting the anti-fouling on. This year we have a green. Yes. Can't get away from the golf. The blue was out of stock. We're going to carry a green bottom around the Caribbean waters. Actually when she's in the water it's not that bad at all. It's a nice shiny little thing to tell the truth. Enough about bottom colours. After Sotirius was back in the water it took a little bit longer then usual before we were ready to leave the dock. We had to wait for our repaired headsail, for our serviced liferaft, for the new anchorchain, for the spinnakerpole to be resprayed and another couple of things. Abu sprayed the steering pedestal but had to come back to do some work because he also sprayed the gasket of the throttle and gearlever box. After replacing the sprayed gasket with a new one it looks so much nicer. Tindle did a great job on the spinnakerpole. The new chain was worth waiting for and it's always better to travel with a serviced liferaft. The headsail looks like new and we also renewed the sealant on of the windows. It was a long list but now we're back in business, home afloat!
